Our Powered Industrial Truck / Forklift Safety Training course is a performance oriented standard in that OSHA states what the required standards are and then allows the employer to create the most protective and cost effective programs possible.

In accordance with the OSHA standard all personnel who utilize powered industrial trucks must receive initial safety training prior to the use of the equipment and periodic refresher safety training every three years. Certain incidents require immediate retraining. These incidents are:

• The operator has been observed to operate the vehicle in an unsafe manner.
• The operator has been involved in an accident or near-miss incident.
• The operator has received an evaluation that reveals that the operator is not operating the truck safely.
• The operator is assigned to drive a different type of truck.
• A condition in the workplace changes in a manner that could affect safe operation of the truck.

Forklift Training Course

The OSHA Powered Industrial Lift Truck (Forklift) course that Bailey Environmental & Safety Training Consultants teach is based upon the OSHA Lift Standard and is designed to educate Forklift Operators in the inherent in forklift operation.

The course includes a discussion of the principles and policies of forklift safety, an explanation of the obligations of employers and employees, the recognition of tasks that may involve exposure to danger, and the performance of a forklift through an obstacle course for review by supervisor and our instructor. The course results in a 3 year certification.
